Privacy Policy
How we handle the personal information you give us. Last updated 22 August 2026.
This policy explains how The Trustee for Accordian Doors Trust trading as Accordion Doors Australia (“we”, “us”) collects and handles personal information, and how we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote and carry out work. That is:
- Contact details. Your name, company name (if you give one), email address and phone number.
- Project details. The product you are asking about, finish preferences, opening measurements, the number of openings, whether the property is commercial or residential, your timeframe, and anything you type into the notes or message field.
- Location. The suburb, state and postcode of the site for a quote or general enquiry. If you book a site measure we also collect the full street address, because we cannot attend site without it.
- Site access details. If you book a site measure, the times that suit you, and anything you tell us about getting in. If you give us the name or number of whoever will let us in, we collect that person’s details too, and we will tell them where we got them at first contact.
- Technical information. Standard server logs and aggregated, non-identifying analytics about page visits and page performance.
We do not collect payment card details, bank details, government identifiers, or sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act (such as health information or information about your race, political opinions or religious beliefs) through this website. Please do not send those to us through the forms.
2. How we collect it
Directly from you, when you complete one of the four forms on this website, call us, or email us. The four are the quote request, the general contact and specifier pack form, the site measure booking, and the product overview request. If someone else gives us your details, for example a builder passing on a site contact, we will tell you at first contact where we got them.
3. Why we collect it, and what we do with it
- To prepare and discuss a quote, and to answer your enquiry.
- To schedule a site measure, supply, install or service a product.
- To keep records of quotes and work performed, including for warranty purposes.
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not add you to a marketing list on the strength of a quote request. If we ever want to send you marketing we will ask first, and every marketing message will carry an unsubscribe option.
4. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary to do the job or run the business:
- Installers, subcontractors and manufacturers engaged to quote, supply, install or service your job, limited to what they need.
- Website hosting and form delivery providers. This site is hosted on Vercel, and form submissions are delivered by email through our email service provider.
- Bot protection. Form submissions pass through Vercel BotID, which analyses request signals to distinguish automated traffic from people.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which report aggregated visit and performance data and do not use cookies to track you across sites.
- Professional advisers and authorities where we are required or permitted by law.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers above store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By submitting a form you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas by those providers. We take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate protections, but overseas recipients may not be subject to the Privacy Act.
6. Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights collect aggregated, non-identifying information about page views and loading performance. Your browser settings can block scripts if you prefer; the site will still work.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and bot filtering on our forms. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
We keep quote and job records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, and we destroy or de-identify information when we no longer need it.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Email info@accordiondoors.com.au or call 03 9331 7376. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and in limited circumstances allowed by the Privacy Act we may refuse a request. If we do, we will tell you why in writing.
9. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at info@accordiondoors.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
